Concept Series- HBC 638

HBC 638 is a disease-resistant, high-yielding, classic aroma selection that is considered a modernized, sustainable take on the classic "C" hops. The initial cross performed by Hop Breeding Company (HBC) took place in 2008, meaning the variety has been vetted through our breeding program for the last 16 years. It has a clean citrusy floral aroma with notes of rose, bubblegum, dank, and vanilla. HBC 638 is highly resistant to known strains of powdery mildew and has a very late picking window, enabling better utilization of farming facilities. The bine is extremely durable and easy for our growers to harvest. Efficiency gains over the reference variety, Centennial, exceed 70% in production per acre. The efficiency gains result in fewer inputs and lower costs per lb. produced, thus providing substantial advancements in economic and environmental sustainability for the entire supply chain.
