Ashley started her career with YCR as an intern in the summer of 2016 and came back for a full-time position in March 2018. Her responsibilities include hop sensory, plot walks for the breeding program, brewing with the experimental hops, field trials, and helping out with the summer intern program. Her background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biological Anthropology from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology with an option in Fermentation Science from Oregon State University. She is also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer where she spent just over two years living in Ukraine teaching English and Literature. In 2021, she completed the UC Davis Applied Sensory and Consumer Science Certificate Program. She is now working on her Master of Science in Agriculture with the Food Science and Management Option from Washington State University and the Master Brewers Certificate from UC Davis. In her free time, she enjoys learning to rock climb, running, making bread, and most of all, being outside with her heeler pup, Dottie, and drinking a tasty IPA!
